Start of some blogging and poetry...

He calls us Beloved.
He calls us beloved,
and I can’t help but find
that when I really think about that,
it blows my mind.
i mean, really, think about it,
and dwell on that word
Beloved is love, magnified,
and personalized to whomever it is heard (by).
but thinking on this
i realize this world
has marred this word, beloved,
and it’s true meaning’s been twirled
into something not selfless,
but selfish in every sense
for while we close our ears to His love,
we fuel up on cheap love, worth but a few cents
and we take what we can get,
be it from women or men,
and thrive on this love
that’s not simple, but bent.
from parents, friends, or lovers
wholeheartedly we desire
satisfaction and approval
and God’s our spare tire
and no one’s immune,
for it’s in us all,
to buy into this love
that, when it’s our everything, will only make us fall.
and we see it over, and over again
and never think it’ll be us
yet we’re fooled into believing,
that, we ourselves, are strong enough.
but that’s the point.
we are not.
we’re weak, and we’re frail
and we fall right after we think we’ve been taught.
but our fragile bones, lives, and sin
isn’t where it just ends,
for we’re not completely lost
in seeking out a love, but it depends
on what kind of a love,
because in front of your eyes,
is a rare love that will promise
true promises, not lies
and it’s pure,
and it’s selfless,
and it never ends.
it’s my Jesus, our king,
and I’m telling you that HE CAN
love us unconditionally,
inspite of ourselves,
despite of ourselves,
because when we learn to remove from the shelves
all that we love and fill up on being loved by,
we see that the dust
by Him, is wiped dry.
and under the gray
is a soft coat of white
that not only promises love,
but eternal life.
and He looks at you,
and calls you a name that before
you didn’t realize meant,
to truly adore.
It’s a word that you’ve heard,
a thousand times or more,
but what you associate it with,
hits you to the core
false hope, and lies too,
and you don’t want anymore
of the cheap stuff you know
will dissapoint, for sure.
but you see this is different,
with clarity and light
and you know that this time
it just seems to be right.
He calls you beloved,
and for once you are sure
that this word is now truth
like never before.
He calls us beloved.
