Ordinary Men

Acts 14:14-17
But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: "Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. In the past, he let all nations go their own way. Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."

When the disciples saw how people started treating them like idols and Gods, they immediately let them know that there was nothing special about themselves, in and of themselves. I think a lot of times we think the men in the bible are somehow holier than we could ever be. When, from their own mouths here, they proclaim just how ordinary, sinful, yet filled with joy from the Lord alone, they are.

They dreamt big. and they did great things and advanced the gospel, not because they were good, but because God was, and is, great.

and we serve the same God.
so dream big. and go. (i need to be reminded of this daily...don't just dream...Go!)
